The IC706 DOES NOT have an internal soundcard so you will have to use a Signalink USB external soundcard or similar to use with vara (or any digimode) I have an IC706 and a Signalink usb and it works very well. GW4OZU

Yes that would be great. I run pactor and love my SCS 7800 Modem. varAC is certainly becoming very popular now especially with such brilliant software But there’s room for both these excellent modes to be used. A PacAC program to compliment the hardware modems would be very useful indeed. GW4OZU

Yes I agree with WD4KAV that a simple message store and retrieve system would be great when away from the radio.

Hi, I had the same problem and found that after I reinstalled V2.5 it worked perfectly and loaded every time. (And still does) I think maybe V2.5 hadn’t installed properly and it was a W10 issue rather than a varAC issue. I do think that there is something a little odd with the way varAC talks to W10 but I haven identified it yet as once it’s working it’s fine. Peter GW4OZU

Yes, that’s good idea as I can see varAC/Vara becoming very popular so it would make sense to qsy up or down to make way for people calling cq. Peter GW4OZU

Hi Irad, I did try running varAC with varaFM again but the software didn’t like it. It said it was sending beacons or calling CQ but nothing happened. It did however attempt a connect. I don’t think it‘s going to work. I sent you an email as I had trouble accessing the forum. It worked after I rebooted my iPhone! GW4OZU
