Unfortunatelly none of these options work. Last year it was possible to operate VarAC at 117%, now I need to go lower to 107% and as I grow older, the fonts grow smaller! I can't avoid wearing glasses, I'm afraid! Hi hi hi!!!

This is going to be bad for portable stations who use a small 6 or 7 or 8 inch laptop or tablet because there is not enough empty space. Also we already have a power adjustment next to the TUNE BUTTON under DISCONNECT MODEM.

As always, well most of the time, you are right Irad. VarAC/VARA can already run almost perfectly in a Raspberry Pi or other LINUX PC and for home use, if one uses a Raspberry Pi or any LINUX PC as his/her Desktop, this is a very good solution. Not so good for portable VarAC where unless you use a LINUX Laptop, and instead you use a Raspberry Pi you need too many extra wires, an extra battery to power the Raspberry Pi and an extra Monitor with extra Wires and extra Battery to power the Monitor or an extra computer/laptop/ipad/android phone so you can view the Raspberry Pi using VNC! 73 SV1UY

Hi there, I think there is no need for this. If you are not in QSO or in any Connection, just click on SEND VMAIL at the right, compose your message and hit the send button. After you do this you will get a POP MESSAGE WARNING saying that you are not connected to anyone at the moment and that your message will be sent in your OUTBOX FOLDER. This is very similar to how WINLINK behaves. Then once connected to the recipient station your VMAIL will be sent to him. VarAC will also do something better than WINLINK. When the recipient station gets on the air and sends his BEACON, if your station receives his/her BEACON it will send them a NOTIFICATION that they have VMAIL waiting to be picked up at your station and then the recipient can connect to you and pick up his/her VMAIL. That's is the reason why BEACONS are very IMPORTANT for VMAIL as well as other VarAC FUNCTIONS. The last sentence is a reminder for the BEACON haters, not to you! Hi hi hi!!! 73 de Demetre SV1UY

IMO, ALE is a military not a Radio Amateur mode, and it's aim is to help dumb Radiotelephone operators that know nothing about Radio waves propagation, like most military Radiotelephone operators. Radio Amateurs are not dumb Radiotelephone operators because Amateur Radio is a hobby and it is all about self teaching and about knowing what we are doing while communicating. Like Irad said, the Frequency Scheduler in VarAC does what we Radio Amateurs need.

I think now that VARA-KISS has a DCD mechanism and Jose is actively deveping it, an EMCOMM group should ask him about allowing SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4 and SL5 speeds to be selected by the user in VARA when KISS MODE is activated. Jose needs some convincing, but an EMCOMM group could probably convince him more easily than an individual.

All you need to do is be there on time, go to Slot 15 by moving the Slot Slider under the frequency indicator all the way to the right, and hit the BROADCAST BUTTON on the right. Type your message you want everyone to see and hit BROADCAST AND CLOSE. After the BUSY indicator goes off, VarAC will send your BROADCAST.
