I should probably know the answer, but sometimes it seems better coming from a few others that may have a better picture of the situation .... I set up an RSP1a to monitor the frequency better and I have been having some fun figuring it out .... HIHI Not too long after setting it up, I observed my beacon being sent out ... and was a little surprised by the center freq being 14.106.5 ..... I would have though that being USP signal and just using 500 hz bandwidth that it should start on 14.105 and extend to 14.105.5 .... I am including a screen shot from the next occurrence of the beacon so that you can see what I am talking about .... Maybe someone can explain it .... or maybe my RSP1a is not displaying as it should .... Thanx in advance for any and all info .... AllaN0KFO

I am using a Yaesu FTDX3000 with omnirig 1.2 on the latest version of VarAC (5.02) and VARA HF 4.6.2. All is working as expected except when VarAC changes frequency for me, it splits the TX to the VFO B and I have to push the tx button to get it back to VFO A ... Receive stays put, but any time rig control chanes frequency, it splits ... Anyone else have this problem? and it so, is there a solution? I have missed a few connections because of it ... I am becoming used to checking it now, so it happens less frequently, but I don't think it should do that ... I have checked the settings on the rig and there is nothing I can see that could cause it... and there is very little I can change on OmniRig ... unless there are more settings I just have not found ... Any help would be appreciated ... Thanx, AllaN0KFO

Take a look at the picture below ... I am running a Yaesu FTdx3000 connected to my laptop with a licensed VARA modem ... I am also running WinLink, but not having real great success there either. The connections are 'hit and miss' most of the time and I know I have a good path ... Here's my story ... I installed VarAC a short week ago and had some success that evening (June 6th, I believe) ... I worked around 5-6 contacts ... some were 'not at home' and I just left a message as requested ... and I had a couple short conversations with users and one extended QSO with a gentleman from MN ... I went to bed with a satisfied feeling that I had just went back in time to the late 80's and early 90's when I used to enjoy keyboard chatting on VHF packet (and also HF packet) ... Anyway, I peered at the screen a few times during the day that day and didn't have any registered beacons or CQ's coming in ... I did notice however that I could hear signals ... and when I looked at VARA waterfall, I could see them ... but they were about half out of the 'passband' (what I call it for lack of a better term) between the 2 red lines ... I have had my beacon on constantly for the past few days and still nothing. I can send out CQ's ... but to no avail ... It just looks to me like the signal should be lining up in between the red lines and it does not as you can see ... I even tried manually tuning up about 330 hertz so it lines up in between the red lines, but I still am not copying anything ... Hopefully, someone on here can point me in the right direction ... I do have another radio (an ICOM IC-718), but haven't been able to interface it yet to be able to test it. Thanx in advance and let me know if anyone needs any other info ... I would be glad to provide ... 73, AllaN0KFO
