Varac and VHF (2 meter) is working!!

    in VarAC discussion forum

I'm using an IC-9700 and Varac works on 2 meter.

    Here are my settings.

    Some notes:

There is no link between the frequency in Varac and the IC-9700. When I choose a frequency in Varac it doesn't change on the IC-9700.

    500Hz and 2300Hz both don't work

    Great :)

I move this to the main forum as I think more people are interested in this content.

If you control PTT by VARAFM then it holds the com port of your RIG so VarAC can't control the rig.

As for 2300/500 - this is by design. to BW option in VARA FM

How do you disable VARA Modem CAT / COM etc to use VARAC Settings?

    Hi Dave.

In the setting PTT at VARA I use PTT via CAT, COM 4 and 9600 Baud. At OmniRiog I use COM 7. In the setting of Soundcard of VARA the IC-9700 sent a tone if I use the knob "TUNE". That is Oké. In the setting of VarAC I use always OmniRig. FM-D and of course VARA FM.

    All is working now.

I am avoiding Omnirig just using VarAC but VarAC CAT gives me the message that the com port is unavailable as VARA has it. I have had to select ra-board for me to get the Com port released.

No idea what happened to my last it got cut up. I am using CAT Commands in VarAC and same for Frequency Control. I am not using Omnirig .but VARA Modem has the COM port unless I select ra-board, then it will work.

I have here the IC-7300 and IC-9700 and both I'm using OmniRig because CAT does not work here. Strange i think
