I heard this app runs in wine but a simple dump the directory to the c drive isn’t loading it well. Vara modems work fine, varaac will load the modem and I see the window load full of visual objects and it will dump out after that - rather verbose on the console
is there a trick or documentation I missed for operations on Linux/wine
Been using it successfully if there is any ability to frame the controles down here better they get messed up a lot
seems to function! to make this work is not too difficult. I assume this will work on 32bitDebian (had a report of no) I do run in 64bit mode bullseye RPi4 fully updated to the day of this post. the very nice Build-A-Pi project is also used to load ham software. There are some nice tools for ham radio included in this project.
after fully installing and running the wine,Box86 and VARA install using this following project script (see the following link before next step)
after you know vara and wine work on your system
you can download the VarAC binary bits into the
~/.wine/drive_c/VarAC directory
(see the prior post in this thread screenshot of the terminal text as well for success on run)
launch varac with the following command you can use in a menu.desktop object
env WINEDEBUG=-all wine /home/pi/.wine/drive_c/VarAC/VarAC.exe
I had to launch a few times and get the settings saved and working but it did work with no major issues! using a IC-705.
now to learn how to QSO with the app ;)
got it loaded on a raspberry pi4 64bit bullseye - haven't tested yet but step one. to get the bulk of wine and vara used this script https://github.com/WheezyE/Winelink
Try to look for this operator. He might give u some hints.
