    New User - No reception

    in VarAC discussion forum

I have VARA HF and VarAC installed & mostly working. CAT control works perfectly and I see received text in the VARA HF Monitor Window. However I don't see any text showing in the Data Stream window of VarAC. The only text I see there is when I send a CQ.

No doubt I've overlooked something in the installation and setup, but have been through the quick-start manual multiple times with no luck. System is as follows:

Win 10 Home - all current updates

Intel i5-2400 quad core @ 3 mHz and 16M RAM

    VARA HF 4.6.1

    VarAC 3.6.5

    IC-7200

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you connect with someone ? this is where data stream is where you see your chat.

Maybe some progress. Just called CQ & got a connect request that apparently failed, but at least I saw the text in the Data Stream window. I received

    16:49:51 - <STARTING CQ CALL> CQ DE K1DJE, CQ DE K1DJE, CQ DE K1DJE <END OF CQ CALL>

16:50:22 - INCOMING CONNECTION REQUEST.. Hold tight!

16:51:38 - NO LUCK. Maybe next time...

No clue who tried to connect or why it failed.

    tnx es 73

All working good. you just have to connect with someone to start see data in that windows. you will the other side messages and your responses. like in a whatsapp chat. Try to connect someone by double clicking callsigns you see on the last heard CQ/Beacons. Enjoy :)

Success! Had a short QSO on 14.105, and even remembered to QSY from the calling freq! Worked great until some wide digital QRM wiped out about 1 kHz!

Have to try it some more! Thanks for the help!
