    in VarAC discussion forum

    I'm trying to understand what goes wrong with automatic or manual logging as I end up with an error message always with all stations. What's wrong?

    @Erik Finskas OH2LAK No report sent from your side. Your VarAC did not send a report to la5xta. I suspect u don't use the varahf v4.5.0 as the pre-requisites indicate as this is the version that is able to provie the SNR levels to VarAC. you can also look at the log entry during the QSO and see that one of the elements (sent report) was left empty. In addition the SNR levels on the right are probably empty (except the one you got from your QSO partne). Upgrade to VARAHF V4.5.0

    i am using VaraHF v4.5.0 so it should not be the issue.

    VarAC also seems to get data from VARAHF as the SNR fields do get filled up in both right of the chat window and to the log details. Only thing which does not fill up automatically is the band information, which I have tried to fill up manually but it still complains about about the error.

    Below is a screenshot of a disconnected QSO but it still has the fields.

    Thank you for the clarifications about the band missing

    1. Did you select the band prior to ending the QSO (auto logging happens upon disconnecting)

    2. after choosing the band manually and manually clicking "Log QSO" was it successfully logged ?

    3. Just to be sure - you filled the band manfully as you are not using OmniRig with frequency control. right ? only a direct PTT.

    Hi Irad. Answers below;

    1) Band was selected after QSO. Auto logging also indicates an error message to the VarAC log, the snippet in the first post is actually from the auto logging I believe as it is immediately after the data has been received and before disconnect.

    2) No. Seems to be so that both automatic and manual logging result in same error message

    3) Band information was filled to the log row manually as it was not filled out automatically. I am using OmniRig (with apparent frequency control), switching frequency from VarAC dropdown list does change frequency on radio and turning radio VFO will change frequency on VarAC. Screenshot of VarAC & Omni-Rig settings here;
