    Calling frequencies

    in VarAC discussion forum

    Hi,

What would be a good calling frquency on 30 meters? 10.143 has a beacon/telemetry station running in the middle of passband and using that frequency would violate ham radio regulations. We can't interfere for purpose.

I have no idea where the transmitter is located but it seems to be running 24/7.

Does anyone have a better suggestion?

I have not heard any consensus on this. I have 10,130.750 for center (10,130.000 and 10,131.500 for QSYD and QSYU) set in my station but I have never heard or worked a VaraC contact of 30 meters. The trouble seems to be that differing countries have slightly different allocation. 🙂

Thanks for info. 30 meters is my favourite band because there are no RTTY contests all weekend long taking up precious space. Sorry all RTTY enthusiastics. That's the way it is.😉

I think the 24/7 beacon you refer to is DK0WCY which operates from JO44VQ (Scheggerott, bear Flensburg)

Looking forward to VarAC activity on 30m.

Yes you' re right. So we have to get another frequency because that hole is occupied.
